Clubs and Activities

The Mt.Olive Middle School GSA welcomes all students, regardless of sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or gender. The MOMS GSA seeks to first provide students with a safe space, then to bring together students and allies to educate the campus and bring awareness to more inclusive language and behavior.

This club is designed for students interested in gaining exposure and experience through various mediums and techniques used in art. As a group, students will collaborate and decide what projects they would like to work on. Students will also work on some projects that have themes. Students will be able to take their passion for Art to the next level. Art club meets every other week and is grouped by grade level.

Students with a desire to serve the interest of their community should consider joining this club. Community Service assists organizations in need of help. Trips include St. Francis Elderly Residential Center, Mt. Olive Child Learning Center, and more.

The purpose of creative writing club is to motivate, inspire, and foster the creative development of poets and writers at the middle school, and to promote a union between the creative writing club and the school’s Literary Magazine Club. It’s so important for students to have an environment in which literature can be appreciated in all forms!

Students will learn a variety of dance styles ​(ballet/lyrical, tap, jazz, hip-hop)​ through choreographed dance routines. Students will also have an opportunity to choreograph their own routines after learning routines from the Dance Club Advisor. Each style of dance will rotate each week so students can pick and choose which style they would like to learn.

Welcome to the MOMS Fitness Club! This vibrant and energetic club offers a fun and inclusive space for students to get active, build strength, and enhance their athletic skills. With a mix of cardio, weight lifting, and CrossFit-style workouts, members can tailor their sessions to prepare for their favorite sports or simply enjoy a great workout. Stretching sessions ensure flexibility and recovery, while group challenges foster camaraderie and teamwork. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just looking to get fit, the Fitness Club is the perfect place to have fun, stay healthy, and make new friends!

Come join us for games, competition, and camaraderie. Throughout the year students will take part in organized tournaments of different games, be introduced to new games, and have an opportunity to hang out with their friends in a fun and energetic environment. Games include classic board games, video games, and card games. Various games will be provided, and students are encouraged to bring their favorite games.

Students who are struggling to meet the demands of their academic classes have the opportunity to receive support and assistance with their homework during these after school sessions. Most Homework Clubs are facilitated by one of the teachers on the child's team. Contact team leaders for more information.

Mount Olive Middle School offers an extensive intramural program for both boys and girls. Boys' and girls' intramurals are conducted as co-ed. Activities include: basketball, floor hockey, indoor soccer, kickball, wiffle ball, ping pong, etc. Students wishing to participate in a fun and pleasurable sports activity are encouraged to attend any or all activities. To participate in Intramural Sports, students must get a sports physical. The school doctor will perform physicals for students interested in joining an intramural sport at various times throughout the year. Please refer to information sent home by our school nurse for specifics.

The Literary Magazine brings together students in a friendly and creative fashion to express themselves through art, photography, computer graphics, and creative writing. Students will be able to volunteer to serve in pivotal roles in the magazine’s publishing process such as: editor, assistant editor, and assistant art director. This club serves as a forum to encourage student appreciation and pursuit of imaginative writing through poetry, fiction, and many other types of creative works and genres.

The Marauder Players Stage Club is your ticket to a complete behind-the-scenes experience of the theater creation process. Whether you are interested in writing scripts, acting, directing, or exploring the magic of theater design, there’s a place for you here.  Together, we’ll plan, create, and perform original student theater, experiencing the production process from beginning to end. This will include brainstorming, script writing, casting, rehearsing, advertising, and performing. The stage awaits–let’s create!

This club is for those students who enjoy the challenge of math. Members are trained to be "Mathletes" and prepare for a mathematical competition called "Math Counts", sponsored by the Association of American Engineers.

The vision of the Media Center Club is to be a safe and welcoming learning community hub that provides both traditional and technological services in an attractive and accessible setting. Students can gather in the Media Center Club in order to work on long term assignments and projects, expand their study skills and habits, and work in a quiet setting before leaving school.

Ski Club takes place between December and February on Fridays after school. Students ride at Shawnee Mountain in East Stroudsburg, PA. Last year about 40% of our club had no previous riding experience and by the end of the season all participants were able to make it down Shawnee's trails. There are various packages available for purchase through our club at a discounted rate. **Transportation is a separate cost.

This team is the middle school chapter of Mount Olive Robotics.
Students will design, build, and program a robot to compete in First Tech Challenge competitions. We will go to three competitions this year. This is an opportunity to learn to think like an engineer and work as part of a team.

The purpose of the science club is to ask questions and find solutions through experimentation. By doing so, young scientists can discover new science skills while improving on the tools they already possess. To make things even better, club members will engage in resolving community based scientific problems, making the world a better place.

The Technology and Broadcasting Club uses cutting-edge camera equipment and video editing software to create short films and video production projects. The program selects a video to compete at the Teen Arts Festival Film Competition.

Students participating in this club will be exposed to all facets of theatrical productions. They will learn to operate some of the most sophisticated sound and lighting equipment in the field. Students will also be responsible for supporting the annual middle school production in the areas of sound and lighting.

The Unified Partners Club is an exciting initiative at Mount Olive Middle School that promotes inclusion and teamwork among students of all abilities. Inspired by New Jersey Unified Sports, this club goes beyond just sports to create a welcoming space for a variety of activities designed to build friendships, enhance social skills, and foster a sense of community.

Students will participate in creating and promoting the school's yearbook. Students will learn photography techniques ​(composition/lighting)a​ nd how to use DSLR Cameras in order to capture memorable moments throughout the school year. Students will also create advertisements to help sell the yearbooks to students.
