The stage came alive with snowflakes, music, and magic as the Mount Olive Middle School Drama Department presented Disney’s Frozen Jr. on May 7, 8, and 9 at the Mount Olive High School Performing Arts Center.

After many weeks of rehearsals at the middle school, students proudly brought the beloved story of Arendelle to life for packed audiences of family, friends, staff, and community members. Under the direction of Chris Bosch, the production showcased the incredible dedication, talent, and teamwork of the student performers and crew members.

Based on the Broadway adaptation of Disney’s hit animated film, Frozen Jr. follows the journey of sisters Anna and Elsa as they discover the importance of love, courage, and family. The musical features many audience-favorite songs including “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” “Love Is an Open Door,” “For the First Time in Forever,” and the iconic “Let It Go.” The junior version of the production also includes songs written specifically for the stage adaptation, helping to expand the story and emotional moments between the characters.

Throughout the performances, audiences were transported into the magical world of Arendelle through colorful costumes, energetic choreography, creative staging, and memorable scenes ranging from Elsa’s coronation to Olaf’s hilarious summer dreams. One of the biggest highlights of the show was the dramatic performance of “Let It Go,” where Elsa embraced her powers in a stunning theatrical moment that earned enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

The production also featured fun and heartwarming scenes with Olaf, Kristoff, Sven, and the Hidden Folk, bringing humor and excitement to the stage while reinforcing the musical’s message about acceptance and the power of sisterhood.

The success of Frozen Jr. was a reflection of the countless hours of hard work put in by students, staff, and volunteers behind the scenes. From set preparation and lighting to rehearsals and musical performances, the Mount Olive Middle School Drama Department once again demonstrated the creativity and dedication that make the performing arts such an important part of the school community.

Congratulations to everyone involved on three unforgettable performances that truly melted hearts and brought Disney magic to Mount Olive.
