In the MOMS Makerspace, you’ll find kids using software to create 3-D models and printing out their inventions, building robots that they’ve designed to complete a specific task, working with virtual reality and augmented reality, and making podcasts and videos.  The hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering, art, and math challenges students with creating their own projects which often differ widely in scope and imagination.  

Designed by zSpace, a leading provider of digital learning tools and 3D systems, the 30 specially equipped laptops provide students with an immersive, lifelike experience, allowing them to enter virtual environments and interactive with objects. Traveling through the human heart and circulatory system, manipulating gears, building robots, rocketing through space, and examining DNA’s double helix structure are just some of the experiences that are possible through the zSpace computers.

Over the past few years, podcasts have become increasingly popular for entertainment and information. In the Podcasting course, students gain practical skills for producing distinctive podcasts and learn the essentials of audio storytelling. Students explore various forms of podcasts and work collaboratively to produce professional-quality content.
